Salmon Fishing

Salmon Fishing in Scotland

For those staying on the Estate we can arrange salmon fishing on the 13 Estate beats of the upper River Isla (the largest tributary of the world famous Tay), on the interesting spate rivers of the Blackwater and the Shee and also on the Tay itself, depending on the time of year (P.O.A.).

The Duke of Atholl introduced grayling into the Isla river system around 1880, providing us still with some of the best grayling fishing in the UK: this is also available to those staying on the Estate (P.O.A.).

Fishing lessons for all levels of experience including complete beginners can be arranged through our Head Keeper and all rods and tackle can be hired from the Estate. Our Estate fishing ghillies (fishing guides) can look after you on the rivers.

  •     Fishing lessons: £25 + VAT per hour
  •     Rods and tackle: £10 + VAT per rod per day or £30 + VAT per rod per week
  •     Estate ghillie: £100 + VAT per day or £65 + VAT per ½ day

The above can be incorporated into a week of sporting activity with accommodation which can also include stalking, wild brown trout and driven or walked up game shooting depending on the time of year.
