experience the scottish highlands
Brewlands Estate is a mixed sporting estate in Glenisla, Highland Perthshire, UK, on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park.
We offer five, 5 star historic holiday rentals, each in its own unique setting with original features. All have been restored to a very high standard in a sympathetic way without compromising on comfort. Each can be rented self-catered, partially or fully catered with further staff options available: all have access to our full concierge service. Fancy a romantic honeymoon with a private hot tub, a skiing mini-break or a holiday brimful of activities for your extended family? We would be delighted to welcome you to our little piece of heaven and to do everything we possibly can to tailor your holiday to exactly the way you would like it to be.
The River Isla, the major tributary of the world famous River Tay, runs through the heart of the Estate. From the cultivated fields of the home farm, hills rise over 3,000 feet beyond the woodlands and heather moorland to the high tops. The Estate, remote and yet a mere 90 minutes from Edinburgh, has a huge variety of topography and habitat which make it home to an extraordinary range of wildlife. Glenisla is mostly organic with such a profusion of wild flowers that part of the glen has been made into a reserve.
The Estate offers a number of exciting sporting opportunities.
We can offer partridge, pheasant and sporting ducks either as fully-driven, mini-driven or rough shooting. We also have walked up grouse over Pointers, roe and red deer stalking, duck flighting, clay pigeon shooting, falconry, simulated stalking and crossbow archery. If you fancy getting close to a rare red squirrel or perhaps a deer our keepers can take you on a wildlife/ photographic safari.
There are endless opportunities for walking in stunning countryside (the long distance Cateran Trail runs through the Estate) or you can rent bicycles or skis from the Estate. There are many different activities to keep children and teenagers enjoyably busy. Or if you just want privacy and peace a number of the houses have private hot tubs and we can arrange for a masseuse to come to your door.
We love the sense of remoteness of the Estate but in reality we are only 10 minutes from the nearest good pub, 30 from a really good restaurant and 75 from a Michelin 2 star (we can easily provide a chauffeur for any expedition). We are a mere 60 minutes from the Queen’s holiday home at Balmoral, 40 from the Queen Mother’s Castle at Glamis (both of which are open to the public), 75 from the world famous golf courses at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Gleneagles, 30 from the nearest distillery and 90 from the world heritage site of Edinburgh with its renowned festivals, museums, galleries, fabulous shopping and huge variety of restaurants.
In Heaven itself I'll ask no more than just a highland welcome
